Commercial Connections is the flagship publication of The CCIM Institute, an international association that confers the elite CCIM Designation.

Published quarterly, Commercial Connections provides in-depth analyses of current industry trends, interviews with successful real estate professionals, and insightful columns on topics including taxes, legal issues, market trends, regional markets, technology, success strategies, and real-estate-related products and services.

Commercial Connections reaches a targeted readership of about 15,000 sophisticated commercial investment real estate professionals. More than 90 percent of our readers are members (Designees or candidates) of The CCIM Institute, which requires a series of classes in finance, marketing, leasing, and decision analysis, in addition to experiential requirements.

A typical Commercial Connections reader is president of his/her firm, has been involved in commercial investment real estate for 15 years or more, and makes primary buying decisions.
 

Article Submission Guidelines

Selecting a Topic

Commercial Connections readers are interested in practical-application and business strategy articles on a variety of topics, including commercial real estate brokerage, investment, leasing, development, financing, property management, and technology. Articles are considered for publication on a rolling deadline basis. Submit a detailed outline or brief abstract for consideration prior to submitting a manuscript.

Preparing the Manuscript

Submit articles in Microsoft Word format attached to an e-mail. Articles should be 1,000 to 1,500 words in length. When appropriate, include case studies, sidebars, or resource boxes to enhance the article. These additional items may appear in print with the article.

Supply a brief professional biography, including present title, designations, place of employment, and expertise in the subject about which you are writing. 

Visuals

Include charts, graphs, or high-resolution (300 dpi) digital images, and illustrations when possible to emphasize and clarify points in your article.

Style

All manuscripts will be edited to meet Commercial Connections' space requirements and general style. Commercial Connections adheres to the Associated Press Stylebook. Any promotional material will be removed from articles prior to publication.

The Review Process

Commercial Connections' editorial review board, composed of commercial investment real estate professionals, reviews all articles. The board determines whether an article is appropriate for publication. If your manuscript is approved "with revisions," it may be returned with recommendations for more information or clarification.

Copyright

Commercial Connections seeks original, unpublished material, and owns the copyright for all of its contents. Please inform the editor if your manuscript currently is scheduled for publication elsewhere. In addition, all authors must sign a publication agreement prior to being published.
